DJ Yesong, known legally as Ahn Ye Song, has appealed the recent court decision sentencing her to 10 years in prison for a fatal drunk driving accident in Gangnam, Seoul. Ahn’s lawyer, Ahn Wang Seon of Dongsuhnam law firm, submitted the appeal to Judge Kim Ji Young of the Seoul Central District Court’s 25th Criminal Division, who oversaw the case.

During the trial, the court highlighted Ahn’s actions immediately following the accident, where she failed to handle the situation and left the scene without taking the required measures.

The prosecution had initially sought a 15-year sentence, underscoring the gravity of the incident, which involved two accidents and resulted in a tragic fatality.

Ahn’s defense team emphasized her contributions to the entertainment industry and her expressions of remorse, including multiple apologies and a settlement with the bereaved family.

The appeal process is now underway as Ahn seeks to contest the severity of the sentence and present arguments for a more lenient punishment, aiming to bring more awareness to the case through her appeal.
