Kevin from THE BOYZ has issued a heartfelt apology following a controversial incident during his appearance at a KBO League baseball game.
On April 19, 2025, Kevin and fellow member Eric were invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the game between the Kiwoom Heroes and KT Wiz at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
However, Kevin faced criticism when he was photographed holding up a message expressing support for a different baseball team—the Kia Tigers—rather than the team hosting the event.
In the photo, Kevin wrote on his phone,
“I hope the day comes when I get to sing the national anthem in Gwangju, the hometown of the Kia Tigers,” which many fans interpreted as disrespectful, especially considering the occasion was meant to support the Kiwoom Heroes.
On April 22, Kevin took to THE BOYZ’s official social media accounts to issue an apology, expressing his regret over his actions. In his post, he shared:
“Hello, this is THE BOYZ’s Kevin. First, I would like to sincerely apologize to baseball fans and THE B [THE BOYZ’s fandom].
On April 19, I was grateful to have been given a warm welcome and a precious opportunity by the Kiwoom officials. However, through my thoughtless words and actions there, I made many people uncomfortable.

At the meaningful moment that signaled the start of the game, I should have been focused solely on cheering on the Kiwoom players, but I carelessly mentioned another team, and I am truly sorry to those I offended as a result.
I apologized first to [THE BOYZ] member Eric, for whom the starting pitch held a great deal of meaning, and I apologize once again to Kiwoom fans.
Through this incident, I learned a lot about how much impact my words and actions can have. I will be more careful in my actions in the future. I am sorry.”
Kevin’s apology has been well-received by many, though the incident sparked widespread discussion about celebrity conduct and responsibility in public appearances.
Moving forward, Kevin has vowed to be more mindful of his words and actions in future events.
