C9 Entertainment has announced the postponement of EPEX’s upcoming concert in China, which was originally set for May 31, 2025, in Fuzhou.
The highly anticipated event, part of the group’s “YOUTH DEFICIENCY” tour, was set to make history as the first full concert by a South Korean idol group in China in nine years.
In an official statement released on May 9, the agency cited “local circumstances” as the reason for the delay.
While no specific details were provided, the term often refers to regulatory, political, or logistical challenges — all of which are common hurdles for foreign artists performing in China.
C9 Entertainment assured fans that they are actively working on rescheduling the event, stating:
“We are currently discussing the rescheduled date and venue and will make an official announcement as soon as it is confirmed.”
This marks a significant moment in the evolving landscape of K-pop in China, a market that has seen limited activity from South Korean artists due to diplomatic tensions and cultural restrictions in recent years.
EPEX, known for its youth-driven narratives and energetic performances, was poised to break that dry spell, making this postponement especially disappointing for fans.
Despite the setback, the response from fans has been largely understanding, with many expressing hope that the concert will be rescheduled soon rather than canceled.
The group has built a strong international following, and demand for their live shows continues to grow.
For now, fans will have to wait for updates as C9 and Chinese organizers navigate the next steps. Meanwhile, EPEX is expected to continue with other scheduled tour stops and promotional activities.
