Just days after completing his 18-month military service, Hyungwon of MONSTA X made a heartfelt return to the public eye with a special fan event titled “Hyungwon’s Wonder Garden” held on May 17 in Seoul.

The event, split into two sessions, sold out swiftly and served as a long-awaited reunion between Hyungwon and MONBEBE, the group’s dedicated fandom.

Hyungwon made a surprise entrance from the audience, holding a bouquet and opening the event with a moving performance of Damon’s Year’s “Window”, a song he chose to express his emotions through music.

“I was nervous to see you again,” he admitted, “but I wanted to share something meaningful.”

The fan meeting featured carefully curated segments that highlighted both Hyungwon’s military experience and his bond with fans:nnIn “546 Days: A Flower in Bloom,” he shared light-hearted and reflective stories from his time in the military, including anecdotes and photos, as well as a playful moment involving a trombone borrowed from fellow member Kihyun.

The “MONBEBE in Bloom” portion focused on reading fan letters, with some touching and others hilariously written in dialect, creating a blend of tears, laughter, and deep connection.

Hyungwon also impressed with a live performance medley featuring tracks like “Igloo,” “Magnetic,” “One Day I LOVE YOU,” “Siren,” and “Boom Boom Bass,” proving that his stage presence and vocals remained as strong as ever.

A highlight of the event was the post-it challenge, where Hyungwon granted fan wishes—from trending TikTok dance challenges to classic MONSTA X performances like “Fallin’,” “Rodeo,” and “ZONE.”

To show his appreciation, he even handed out 100 autographed posters per session through fan games and hosted fun interactions like charades and “Whatever MONBEBE Asks.”

These intimate and spontaneous moments reminded fans why they waited so patiently for his return.

Hyungwon ended the event on a warm note, performing Woody’s “Just Throw Something On” and personally greeting fans as they departed. His closing message was just as touching as the event itself:

“No matter how cold the world may be, I hope this place will always be your greenhouse.”

In a follow-up statement via Starship Entertainment, he reflected on the event with sincerity:

“Seeing MONBEBE again after so long made me nervous, but also so happy. I hope this day stays in your memory as much as it will in mine. Let’s see each other more, laugh more, and be happier together. I love you, MONBEBE.”

Fans can look forward to Hyungwon’s official return to activities, beginning with his role as MC at the Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 on May 29. Welcome back, Hyungwon!
