On May 22, 2025, it was confirmed that the former director of SPIRE Entertainment, the previous agency of the K-pop group OMEGA X, has been forwarded to prosecution following allegations of serious misconduct.

The director, referred to as “A,” who is also the wife of SPIRE’s CEO, faces accusations of forcibly molesting six members of OMEGA X, with charges including indecent assault through abuse of occupational authority.

These allegations stem from incidents that reportedly took place at various locations, including overseas tour stopovers in 2022 and inside the agency’s Seoul office.

The case initially surfaced when seven out of the eleven members of OMEGA X filed complaints against “A” in August 2023, sparking a prolonged legal battle.

The police’s decision to forward the case to prosecution without detention indicates the gravity of the situation.

In response to these developments, OMEGA X’s current agency, IPQ, released an official statement clarifying that previous accusations of “tampering” brought by SPIRE Entertainment have been officially acquitted, signaling progress in the group’s ongoing dispute with their former agency.

Since their debut in 2021, OMEGA X has endured significant challenges, including a contentious split from SPIRE Entertainment starting in November 2022.

This led to a court injunction in January 2023 suspending their exclusive contracts, allowing the members to sign with IPQ and continue their careers under new management.

This case highlights the ongoing struggles K-pop idols sometimes face behind the scenes and the importance of legal protections for artists within the industry.
