Winners of the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards 2025: Celebrating Excellence in Film and Television

The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, South Korea’s prestigious celebration of excellence in film and television, took place on May 5, 2025, at COEX in Seoul.

Hosted by Shin Dong Yup, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum, the ceremony highlighted some of the year’s best performances, creative works, and productions in the entertainment industry.

Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars took home the Grand Prize in the television category, while the film Harbin claimed the Grand Prize in the film category, with its cinematographer, Hong Kyung Pyo, recognized for his outstanding work.

Harbin also earned the title of Best Film, solidifying its place as a standout cinematic achievement.

The highly acclaimed When Life Gives You Tangerines also had a remarkable night, winning multiple honors.

It earned Best Drama, along with Best Supporting Actor (Choi Dae Hoon) and Best Supporting Actress (Yeom Hye Ran), as well as Best Screenplay for Im Sang Choon.

These wins reflect the emotional depth and exceptional storytelling that captivated both critics and audiences.

In acting, Ju Ji Hoon was awarded Best Actor for his role in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, while Kim Tae Ri won Best Actress for her stellar performance in Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born.

Other acting awards included Best Supporting Actor, which went to Yoo Jae Myung for Land of Happiness, and Best Supporting Actress, awarded to Claudia Kim for her role in A Normal Family.

In the film category, Jo Jung Suk received Best Actor for his role in Pilot, and Jeon Do Yeon was named Best Actress for her performance in Revolver.

The Best Director honor went to Oh Seung Wook for Revolver, while the Best New Director award was given to Oh Jung Min for House of the Seasons. Notably, the Gucci Impact Award was presented to The Land of Morning Calm, recognizing its cultural significance.

The Prizm Popularity Award went to Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon for their roles in Lovely Runner, showcasing their widespread fan admiration.

The 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards not only celebrated incredible performances but also highlighted the creativity and talent shaping the Korean entertainment industry.
