Global girl group (G)I-DLE turned up the summer heat as they delivered a blazing set of performances at SUMMER SONIC 2025, one of Japan’s largest and most prestigious music festivals.
Held across two locations — Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka — on August 16 and 17, the festival saw (G)I-DLE commanding the stage with confidence, charisma, and a surprise that left fans buzzing.
For (G)I-DLE, this marked their first appearance at SUMMER SONIC, and they did not disappoint.
From the moment they stepped onto the stage, the group’s energy was palpable — feeding off the crowd’s excitement and giving back even more in return.

She added,
“This time, we’ll go with songs that are perfect for summer,” hinting at a performance that would match the high energy of the festival.
The group opened with their vibrant summer anthem “DUMDi DUMDi,” instantly setting the mood.
This was followed by “Klaxon,” another track known for its festival-friendly, danceable rhythm.
As the stage lights pulsed and the crowd moved in sync, (G)I-DLE continued to roll out fan-favorite hits including:
- “Good Thing”
- “Wife”
- “MY BAG”
- “TOMBOY”
- “Queencard”

Each performance showcased the group’s distinct mix of powerful stage presence, fierce choreography, and genre-defying sound.
From hip-hop vibes to pop-punk anthems, the setlist was a tour through (G)I-DLE’s diverse discography, reinforcing their status as one of the most versatile girl groups of this generation.

Just when fans thought the excitement had peaked, (G)I-DLE dropped a major announcement that added a thrilling twist to the night.

Live Premiere of Japanese “Fate”
Before the final bow, (G)I-DLE treated the audience to a live preview of the Japanese version of “Fate,” one of their most emotionally resonant tracks from 2024.
A surprise inclusion in their upcoming Japanese EP, the live version was revealed for the first time at SUMMER SONIC, giving fans an exclusive moment of connection with the group.
This surprise performance served a double purpose: closing the show on a heartfelt note while also offering a taste of what’s to come when the EP drops.
The Japanese version maintained the song’s haunting charm while allowing fans in Japan to connect with the lyrics on a more intimate level.
