In a landmark moment for both K-pop and global sports, BOYNEXTDOOR has been officially named the first K-pop artist to serve as global ambassadors for the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s Volleyball World Championship.

The FIVB, established in 1947 as the governing body of volleyball worldwide, has chosen the rising boy group to represent and promote the 2025 tournament, which kicks off on September 12 in Manila.

The announcement marks a powerful crossover between music and athletics, as BOYNEXTDOOR prepares to bring their star power to the world of international sports.

Not only will they be promoting the tournament globally, but they will also headline the opening ceremony, an honor that reflects their growing influence on the global stage.

The group shared their thoughts on this historic appointment, saying,

“We’re excited to be global ambassadors [for the World Championship] in a meaningful year when the South Korean national team is participating, and we also feel a strong sense of responsibility.”

They added,

“We will do our utmost to help many people feel inspired by volleyball and experience its charm.”

The FIVB praised the group’s role in this year’s campaign, emphasizing their ability to promote values like sportsmanship, unity, and international cooperation.

A statement from the organization read,

“BOYNEXTDOOR’s global influence will be a great help in achieving the tournament’s goal of bringing together nations from all over the world through volleyball.”

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, BOYNEXTDOOR is also preparing to return to the music scene.

Ahead of the volleyball championship, the group will drop a new EP titled “No Genre” on May 13, teasing a fresh sound and concept.

Fans are already buzzing over the recent teaser films released in anticipation of their comeback.

With both a major global ambassadorship and a musical comeback on the horizon, BOYNEXTDOOR is solidifying their place as one of the most dynamic and influential K-pop acts of 2025.
