Rapper Sik-K, a prominent figure in the South Korean hip-hop scene, has been sentenced to a suspended 10-year prison term, with a probation period of two years, for multiple instances of illegal drug use.
The verdict was handed down on May 1 KST by the 7th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court, marking a significant development in a case that has drawn wide public and media attention.
According to the court, Sik-K (real name Kwon Min-sik) abused illegal substances including ketamine, ecstasy, and marijuana.
The court highlighted the seriousness of the offenses, noting that Sik-K is a public figure with substantial influence, and thus, his actions carry heavier social implications.

Despite this, the court acknowledged his voluntary confession and cooperation with authorities as mitigating factors.
He had previously turned himself in at a police station in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, admitting to possession and personal use of the illegal drugs.
Investigations revealed that Sik-K used ketamine and ecstasy in October 2023, followed by marijuana in January 2024.
His admission led to the investigation that eventually culminated in his sentencing.
The court ultimately deferred his prison term under the condition of two years of probation, allowing him the opportunity to reform, though he faces incarceration if he violates the terms.
The ruling has sparked conversation among fans and netizens, with some expressing disappointment over the rapper’s actions, while others have shown cautious support, pointing to his decision to take responsibility and the court’s recognition of his remorse.

Sik-K, known for his participation in Show Me The Money 4 and for a string of popular tracks such as “iffy” and “Fire,” has been a notable name in the Korean hip-hop and R&B scene.
With this legal outcome, his career path remains uncertain as he begins a difficult chapter under the public eye.
