In a statement, RM shared his motivation behind the generous act:

“I decided to donate because I wanted to participate in a meaningful cause for my birthday.

I hope that this donation will be of even the slightest help to patients who need treatment but are struggling financially.”

A Gift That Keeps Giving

Seoul Asan Medical Center confirmed that RM’s contribution will directly assist low-income patients who are in need of surgery or ongoing treatment but are burdened by high medical costs.

Meanwhile, Korea University Medical Center announced that the donation will go toward enhancing their clinical facilities and services, allowing more patients to receive better and more efficient care.

The hospitals expressed deep gratitude, emphasizing the real-life impact RM’s contribution will have on the lives of those struggling with health and financial challenges.

A Leader On and Off Stage

Known for his intellect, humility, and philanthropy, RM has long been celebrated not only for his musical talent but also for his thoughtful actions. This birthday donation continues a legacy of socially conscious giving by BTS members, who have previously contributed to causes ranging from education and mental health to disaster relief.

As RM celebrates another year, fans around the world have joined in with messages of love and support—many inspired to donate to charitable causes in his honor.
