During the final song of the encore stage at Super Junior’s 20th Anniversary TOUR “SUPER SHOW 10” SJ – CORE in Seoul on April 5, an accident occurred that left three audience members injured. SM Entertainment confirmed the incident on April 6, explaining that while member Ryeowook was performing near the extended stage and greeting fans, some attendees reached beyond the barrier. The temporary safety fence near the seating area collapsed, causing several people to fall.

The three injured fans were immediately taken to the hospital, where medical staff reported sprains and bruises. They are expected to need approximately two weeks to recover. Ryeowook, who witnessed the accident, appeared visibly distressed and was reportedly unable to participate in the ending stage. Footage of the moment circulated online, raising concern among viewers and fans.

SM Entertainment issued a formal apology, stating, “We sincerely apologize to those who were affected and their families,” and pledged full support for the injured, promising to ensure their recovery. The agency also emphasized its responsibility as the organizer and was committed to strengthening safety inspections and audience management in future events.

Criticism has emerged regarding the use of a temporary structure rather than a permanent safety barrier. Observers also raised concerns about insufficient on-site personnel to manage the situation, highlighting potential gaps in the event’s safety measures. This incident has sparked renewed attention on crowd safety at large-scale K-pop concerts and the need for stricter preventive actions.
