Rising K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER is expanding their global influence with an exciting new project in Japan.
The YG Entertainment rookies have been tapped to sing the original soundtrack for the upcoming live-action adaptation of ‘Mieruko-chan’, a popular Japanese manga series turned film.
Titled “Ghost,” the track will serve as the main theme song for the movie and marks the group’s first-ever original Japanese release, signaling their growing presence in the Japanese entertainment market.
The song will officially drop on May 7 at midnight KST/JST, ahead of the film’s release.
The film Mieruko-chan follows the eerie and emotionally layered story of Miko Yotsuya, a high school girl who can see horrifying ghosts and spirits that others can’t.
Struggling to live a normal life while haunted by supernatural visions, Miko must learn to cope with her terrifying gift.
Given the psychological and supernatural elements of the story, “Ghost” is expected to be a haunting, emotionally charged song that complements the film’s eerie atmosphere.
While venturing into the Japanese music scene, BABYMONSTER is also in the midst of their ‘HELLO MONSTERS’ World Tour.
After successful concerts in Seoul, Newark, and Los Angeles, the group has expanded their North American tour stops to include Toronto, Rosemont, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Oakland, and Seattle, reflecting their rapidly growing international fanbase.
