Fans recently noticed that BoA wiped her Instagram, keeping only teaser photos of her upcoming single ‘Emptiness.’ She unfollowed everyone except her late brother, Kwon Soon Hwon, who died in 2021 from cancer.

A concerned fan shared the update on an online community.

“BoA cleared all her following and her feed on her Instagram. She originally had over 260 people she followed and had over 1000 posts. But she deleted everything except her comeback teasers.”

The fan continued,

“Also, her brother is the only one she’s following and she unfollowed everyone. She recently deleted everything and I don’t know why. Maybe she just wanted to organize her social media.”

Other Korean netizens commented,

  • “I think she did it for her comeback promo.”
  • “I guess if you’re her fan, you would be worried. I just hope it was just for her comeback promotion.”
  • “I hope BoA is okay.”
  • “I think celebrities do this often? There was an actor who wiped everything on their social media account but it’s not all back to normal. So, she could’ve done this as a promo for her comeback.”
