EXID’s Hani (Ahn Hee Yeon) has finally broken her silence eight months after postponing her wedding to psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong.

On March 1, she took to Instagram to share a selfie from Dharamsala, a serene city in northern India known for being the residence of the Dalai Lama.

The photo revealed Hani’s fresh transformation—her signature long locks had been cut into a short bob, and she appeared makeup-free, smiling brightly.

Fans were thrilled to see her looking happy and refreshed after months of uncertainty regarding her personal life.

Hani and Yang Jae Woong had initially planned to marry in September 2023 after four years of dating. However, their wedding was postponed due to a tragic incident at Yang’s psychiatric hospital.

In May 2024, a woman in her 30s, identified as A, died under questionable circumstances at the Bucheon-based facility where she was receiving treatment for diet pill addiction.

Reports stated that A passed away 17 days after admission due to suspected paralytic ileus.

CCTV footage later revealed that hospital staff had restrained her to a bed and administered sedatives despite her repeated complaints of severe pain.

Her family later accused the hospital of neglect and professional negligence, filing a lawsuit against the staff involved.

Following the lawsuit, the Bucheon Wonmi Police Department temporarily paused its investigation in January 2024, citing the need for expert medical opinions from the Korean Medical Association (KMA).

The police clarified that this was a procedural suspension and that once the KMA provided its findings, a final decision would be made on whether to forward the case for prosecution.

While Hani has remained silent about the incident and her postponed wedding, her latest Instagram post suggests she is taking time for personal healing and self-discovery.

Fans continue to support her, expressing their hope that she finds peace and happiness regardless of the challenges surrounding her fiancé’s legal troubles.
