Kwon Hyun Bin, the versatile actor and singer also known as VIINI, is officially preparing to begin his mandatory military service. On October 24, 2025, his agency, Ghost Studio, announced that the star has chosen to serve in the prestigious and rigorous Marine Corps, with his enlistment date set for November 24.

Ghost Studio shared the news through a formal statement, detailing that Kwon Hyun Bin will enter the Marine Corps Training Center to undergo basic military training before transitioning to his official duties. The agency emphasized that the enlistment will be a private event.

To ensure the safety of other recruits and their families, no official ceremonies or public farewell events will take place on the day he enters the training center. The agency requested fans’ understanding and encouraged them to send their support from afar.

Kwon Hyun Bin first gained widespread public attention in 2017 through his appearance on Mnet’s hit survival program, “Produce 101 Season 2.” Following the show, he debuted as a member of the popular project boy group JBJ, where he showcased his skills as a rapper and performer.

After the group’s activities concluded, he successfully transitioned into a solo career as a musician and established himself as a talented actor. His filmography includes notable roles in dramas such as “The Red Sleeve,” “Pandora: Beneath the Paradise,” and “The World of My 17.”

The decision to join the Marine Corps is often seen as a mark of great dedication in South Korea, as the branch is known for its particularly demanding physical and mental training. Fans have expressed their pride in his choice, flooding social media with messages of encouragement and promises to wait for his return.

Ghost Studio concluded their announcement by expressing gratitude for the love shown to the artist and asking fans to “warmly cheer him on until the day he returns healthy and even more mature after diligently carrying out his military service.” As he prepares for this new chapter, the industry looks forward to the personal growth he will achieve during his time away.
