Lee Hi and Dok2, who have reportedly been in a romantic relationship for around five years, have officially co-founded a new label, 808 HI RECORDINGS, focused on hip-hop and R&B. The label aims to go beyond traditional music releases, expanding into concert planning, video content production, and creative projects while discovering and nurturing emerging artists.
Dok2 (Lee Joon-kyung) has been a prominent figure in the Korean hip-hop scene since the mid-2000s, gaining critical and commercial success for his distinct rap style. He previously played a major role at Illionaire Records, helping to set standards for independent hip-hop labels in Korea. Lee Hi rose to fame as the runner-up on K-pop Star and debuted in 2012, earning praise for her powerful vocals and R&B performances.
Together, the pair plan to lead 808 HI RECORDINGS with an emphasis on collaboration. Beyond their solo work, they intend to release duet projects and work with a wide range of artists, targeting both domestic and global audiences. To celebrate the label’s launch, Dok2 and Lee Hi will release their duet track “You & Me” on March 28, coinciding with Dok2’s birthday, with distribution handled by YG Plus.
The collaboration has already generated significant industry attention. Both artists emphasized that 808 HI RECORDINGS is meant to allow them to pursue music freely and contribute to the growth of Korea’s hip-hop and R&B scene.
