On March 3rd, Lee Hyori took to her social media to share,
“It’s late, but I have a confession to make. My actual birthday is January 23, 1979, according to the lunar calendar.”
She continued,
“My ID card shows May 10th, so that’s what has been listed on my profile and how I’ve lived until now. But I want to let you know my real birthday. Please celebrate my birthday today.”
She celebrated her birthday by blowing out candles on a cake, as shown in her video message.
Lee Hyori, who tied the knot with guitarist and singer-songwriter Lee Sang-soon in 2013, is currently serving as the MC of KBS 2TV’s music variety show ‘The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet’.
Concerning the singer, she made her debut as a member of the group Fin.K.L in 1998, which rose to prominence as one of South Korea’s most popular girl groups in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Apart from Fin.K.L, she has also been part of various project groups, such as the Refund Sisters and SSAK3 in 2020.
