Amidst the ongoing conflict between ADOR and HYBE over allegations of ILLIT copying NewJeans, a recent report from Korean media outlet DongA sheds light on the strained relationship, revealing that NewJeans’ parents refused to meet with HYBE due to what they perceived as an “insincere response.”

According to DongA, the issue began when NewJeans’ parents initially raised concerns with ADOR after the controversy surrounding ILLIT’s alleged copying emerged in March. ADOR subsequently sent a letter to HYBE, chaired by Bang Si-hyuk and CEO Park, outlining the problem and requesting corrective action.

In response, HYBE sought a meeting with the parents of NewJeans members to address the issue. However, it has been reported that the parents deemed HYBE’s response insincere and opted to decline the meeting request.

The escalating tensions between the two entities culminated in HYBE initiating an audit against ADOR on April 22, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing feud surrounding the allegations of ILLIT copying NewJeans.
