On April 21, 2025, RM, the beloved leader of BTS, surprised fans with a quiet yet significant update marking a pivotal milestone in his military service.

With just 50 days remaining until his discharge, RM shared a screenshot of a countdown app on his social media story, showing the message: “50 days left until discharge! Have you planned your final vacation?”

The simple image, posted without any additional caption, instantly set off a wave of excitement among BTS fans worldwide, all eagerly anticipating the leader’s return.

RM began his mandatory military service in December 2023, and his discharge is scheduled for June 10, 2025.

He enlisted alongside fellow BTS member V, who is also set to complete his service on the same day. Jimin and Jungkook will follow, returning on June 11, while SUGA, who is currently serving as a public service worker, is set to be discharged on June 21.

Once RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and SUGA complete their service, BTS will be fully reunited—a moment that fans have long awaited since the group’s enlistment began.

Even while serving, RM has kept in touch with his fans, posting photos during his leave and sharing messages that have built anticipation for BTS’s future.

Notably, in January 2025, RM shared a post that read “2025, I’ve been waiting for you,” signaling his excitement for the year ahead and the return of BTS as a complete group.

Meanwhile, Jin, the first member to complete his service in June 2023, and J-Hope, who was discharged in October 2024, have both resumed their solo activities, helping to keep the BTS presence alive during the group’s hiatus.

Fans are now turning their attention to late 2024, when BTS is expected to resume group promotions, marking a new chapter for the iconic K-pop group.

With RM’s discharge just around the corner, the countdown has already begun in earnest, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the global superstars.
