The latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer” featured a surprising revelation as the identity of the “Wrestling Champion” was unmasked.

In the May 26 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants stepped up to challenge the reigning champion. The final match-up of Round 1 featured a powerful duet of Lee Juck’s ballad “Lie Lie Lie” performed by “Wrestling Champion” and “Heracles.”

The performance was so impressive that the celebrity panelists remarked it felt like a final showdown, with both contestants showing the potential to claim the throne.

Despite his impressive vocal display, the Wrestling Champion was defeated by Heracles. Following the round, he stayed on stage to deliver a stirring rendition of Kim Hyun Sung’s “Wish,” revealing his identity midway through the performance.

The audience and panelists were thrilled to discover that Wrestling Champion was Yoo Seung Eon, the main vocalist of EVNNE. EVNNE is a rookie project group formed by seven former contestants from the Mnet survival show “Boys Planet.”

When asked about his motivations for participating in the show, Yoo Seung Eon shared, “I think there are more people who don’t know my voice than people who do. So I came here hoping to make myself a little better known as an idol main vocalist who sings really well.”

Host Kim Sung Joo inquired about Yoo Seung Eon’s rumored perfectionist nature, prompting a humorous recollection from Yoo Seung Eon. He recounted a moment when, during a break, he felt the need for more practice. “I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way we can end practice here.’ So I asked the older members, ‘Can we practice a little more before leaving?’ And then I locked the door to the practice room.”
