After the “Burning Sun” documentary shed light on Seungri’s central role in the scandal, K-pop fans, particularly VIPs, reflected on the warnings issued by BIGBANG members regarding their former bandmate’s behavior, which ultimately led to criminal allegations.

The documentary, aired by the British public broadcast channel BBC on May 19, explored the “Burning Sun Gate” controversy, exposing the prostitution, sexual assault, rape, and police corruption rampant within one of Gangnam’s prominent clubs from 2018 to 2019.

It highlighted Seungri’s significant involvement as one of the club owners and his ties to Jung Joon Young, a perpetrator of sexual assault and rape, who orchestrated a secret Kakao Talk group chat with K-pop idols to share illegally filmed videos of victims.

As the documentary circulated online, fans revisited past instances where BIGBANG members appeared to foresee Seungri’s eventual downfall.

Particularly noteworthy were remarks made by T.O.P, who expressed concern about Seungri’s choice of friends and obsession with money over music passion. T.O.P. emphasized their original bond rooted in music and urged Seungri to focus on their collective future.

In a Japanese interview before their military enlistment, Taeyang cautioned Seungri about representing BIGBANG alone and advised him to be cautious. G-Dragon also admonished Seungri to avoid fraudulent behavior, warning of potential legal consequences.

There were instances where T.O.P distanced himself from Seungri, publicly stating that BIGBANG consisted of only four members. Daesung’s reluctance to acknowledge Seungri further underscored the severity of the situation.

These past warnings from BIGBANG members now serve as poignant reminders of the turmoil that ensued, offering insights into the dynamics within the group and their concerns about Seungri’s actions.
