BTS member Jin marked his birthday this year by making a meaningful donation to support those in need.
According to the Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society on December 3, Jin donated 100 million won (approximately $68,100) ahead of his birthday, which falls on December 4. The donation was made to help support underprivileged members of the local community and contribute to welfare programs run by the organization.
The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society has a long history of charitable work, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The organization originally began as a child welfare facility and has continued to focus on programs that support children, youth, and vulnerable members of society. In line with this mission, Jin’s donation will primarily be used to assist child and youth welfare initiatives.
Because Jin has consistently shown interest in encouraging and supporting the talents of young people, the funds will be directed toward programs designed to help children and adolescents develop their potential.
This includes scholarship programs aimed at supporting talented but underprivileged youth, providing them with opportunities to pursue their interests and education.
Part of the donation will also be allocated to the organization’s “Self-Reliant Youth Support Program.” This initiative is designed to assist young individuals who are transitioning out of childcare institutions and beginning independent life. The program helps provide resources and support that can ease the challenges faced by these youths as they move toward self-sufficiency.
Jin has previously been known for his quiet acts of charity and philanthropy, and this donation once again reflects his commitment to giving back to the community, particularly in ways that help support the younger generation.
Meanwhile, Jin recently concluded the encore performances of his first solo fan concert tour, “#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,” with the final show taking place on October 31. The tour marked an important milestone in his solo career and allowed him to connect with fans through live performances.
Looking ahead, BTS is currently preparing for a full-group comeback that is expected to take place in the first half of next year, raising anticipation among fans worldwide.
