On March 28, 2025, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced that Jungkook of BTS has made a generous donation of 1 billion KRW (~ $680,000 USD) to aid wildfire relief efforts in the Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam regions of South Korea.

This donation is the largest known contribution from any public figure since the fires began earlier in the week.

The 1 billion KRW donation is split into two parts:

  • 500 million KRW will provide emergency aid and supplies to residents who have lost their homes due to the wildfires.

  • The other 500 million KRW will focus on improving awareness and working conditions for the firefighters fighting the blazes.

Previously, Jungkook’s fellow BTS members J-Hope, SUGA, and RM also made donations of 100 million KRW each, to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association and the Korean Red Cross.

In addition to his recent donation, Jungkook made another significant 1 billion KRW contribution in 2023 to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to support medical treatments for children from low-income families and to help with the hospital’s integrated care center initiatives.

Jungkook’s donations continue to demonstrate his philanthropic efforts and dedication to helping those in need.
