Kim Yeon Ji, former member of the vocal group SeeYa, has shared an emotional update about her health journey, revealing that she will be taking a break from her activities due to vocal cord cyst surgery.

On May 6, she posted a video titled “Should I stop my 20-year singing career?” on her personal YouTube channel, which was filmed last year.

In the video, she detailed her long struggle with vocal issues that began after her involvement in various performances.

Kim recalled how her vocal problems began after her time performing in the musical Marie Antoinette in 2019 and participating in Miss Trot 2 in 2020.

The intense demands of these projects led her to overuse her voice, which eventually caused her to lose control of it.

Despite seeking medical treatment and using steroids, she shared that she experienced severe side effects, which only worsened her condition.

Eventually, after taking a break and consulting with multiple doctors, she was diagnosed with a vocal cord cyst that would require surgery for proper treatment.

Kim Yeon Ji explained how she continued to perform even while dealing with the cyst, fearing that she wouldn’t be able to sing again.

She refrained from vocal practice and only focused on mental rehearsals, visiting the hospital regularly. The stress from her situation also led to her developing vertigo.

Although the cyst seemed to improve after some treatments, it returned when she resumed her professional activities, and despite her efforts to heal naturally, surgery became unavoidable.

She was scheduled for surgery on February 4 and is hopeful that after healing, she will return to the stage as both a musical actress and singer.

Kim Yeon Ji, who debuted in 2006 as part of the successful group SeeYa, is best known for hits like “A Greeting of Love” and “Crazy Love Song.” Fans have shown their support and are eagerly awaiting her recovery and future performances.
