Popular girl group IVE has reached another major career landmark in Japan, officially receiving a prestigious Platinum certification for their latest Japanese release.

According to the July 2026 Gold Disc certifications officially announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on August 10, IVE’s fourth Japanese album, “LUCID DREAM,” officially crossed the threshold required for Platinum status.

In Japan, RIAJ Platinum certifications are awarded exclusively to musical works that achieve cumulative physical album shipments exceeding 250,000 units, underscoring the sextet’s massive commercial demand and strong purchasing power in one of the world’s largest music markets.

This major milestone comes just months after the album’s initial release in May, highlighting the steady streaming stability and consistent album sales IVE maintains across international markets.

Agency representatives confirmed the achievement, celebrating the group’s growing presence and continued influence in the region.

Chart Dominance and Record-Breaking Debut Sales

Following its release in May, “LUCID DREAM” immediately dominated major music charts across Japan.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s Weekly Combined Album Ranking, marking the third time IVE has claimed the top spot on that specific tally.

Also, the album simultaneously captured the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s Weekly Album Ranking, securing a impressive “double crown” on Oricon’s weekly charts.

During its first week of release alone, “LUCID DREAM” recorded 120,000 copies sold, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales by an overseas female artist in Japan for the year.

The album’s success extended across other major industry metrics, as “LUCID DREAM” also soared to No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s Weekly Album Sales chart.

Receiving the official RIAJ Platinum certification provides further concrete proof of the group’s solid fanbase and top-tier standing within the Japanese entertainment landscape.

Massive Dome Tour and Expanded Media Presence

Beyond record sales, IVE has solidified their top-tier status in Japan through high-capacity live performances and frequent national television appearances.

As part of their second world tour, “SHOW WHAT I AM,” the group completed a major Japanese dome tour- including high-profile concerts at Kyocera Dome Osaka and Tokyo Dome- drawing a total of 127,000 attendees and setting a new personal audience record.

Their massive tour draw was covered extensively across Japan’s top five major sports dailies (Nikkan Sports, Sankei Sports, Sports Hochi, Sports Nippon, and Daily Sports) as well as featured on prominent morning television broadcasts such as Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi TV” and TBS’s “THE TIME.”
