TREASURE member Junkyu will be temporarily stepping away from group activities to focus on his health, according to an official announcement released by YG Entertainment on June 29.
The agency explained that the decision was made after careful discussions with the artist, with his health and well-being taking priority above all else.
In its statement, YG Entertainment shared that although promotions for TREASURE‘s latest mini album, NEW WAV, had recently concluded successfully, Junkyu had continued carrying out his schedules despite experiencing health concerns.
However, after recognizing that he needed sufficient time to recover both physically and mentally, the company and the singer mutually agreed that a temporary break would be the best course of action.
As a result, Junkyu will not be participating in the group’s upcoming schedules for the time being.
This also means he will be absent from the planned promotional video (P/V) filming for the B-side track DANGER.
While fans may feel disappointed by his absence, the agency reassured them that his recovery remains the highest priority.
YG Entertainment expressed its appreciation for the understanding and patience of fans during this period.
The company also emphasized that it would fully support Junkyu throughout his recovery, adding that the members of TREASURE are likewise standing by him and encouraging him to rest without pressure.

“As I worked hard to show only good things, I gradually stopped noticing the warning signs from my mind and body.”
Junkyu explained that after speaking at length with the company, he realized that taking time away was necessary not only for his immediate health but also for his future.
He expressed confidence that resting now would allow him to return as a stronger and healthier person. In his own words, he said,
“I decided that taking a break was the right choice to return as a healthier and more certain version of myself.”
The singer also acknowledged that the news might come as a surprise to fans who have always supported him.
